The Mid Day Meal Scheme, an initiative of the Government of India, aims to support underprivileged students in both rural and urban areas, addressing issues such as malnutrition, food security, and access to education. The IMMS mobile application has been developed for the purpose of efficiently monitoring daily and monthly data related to mid-day meals. Schools can update this information through the mobile application. Once installed on an Android device, the app requires an internet connection to send the meal data to the centralized platform.

With the mobile app, the designated Mid Day Meal (MDM) personnel can easily report daily attendance and the number of students receiving meals. This streamlines the process for MDM in-charges, who simply need to provide their login credentials to input the data. At higher levels - including Block, District, and State authorities - a user-friendly web portal is available for overseeing the data transmission from all schools within their jurisdiction.

By analyzing attendance figures, these authorities can accurately allocate food grains to schools. This system enhances transparency in food distribution and usage by preventing any fictitious claims of student or teacher presence (ghost students/teachers).
